Where did Summer Go? What have I been up to the last couple of summer months?

Over the past few weeks, I have been busy with lots of things – from updating the website with some new fresh clean pictures, to selling some of my lovely prints and cards as well as my newest work – the large format original paintings from the Oh series. I’ve also made some new connections and attended some exciting events. The most exciting event has to be Enterprise Nation’s Home Business Summit in Somerset House led by the ever inspiring Enterprise Nation founder Emma Jones. The summit was topped off by a surprise visit by the Prime Minister himself – quite a show of government support for small home businesses like mine.

I also took a well-deserved two week holiday to recharge – both creatively and physically. I spent some time with my family in the USA in the Wisconsin / Minnesota area. For those of you who have never been, during the summer particularly, it is a gorgeous area of the USA, particularly with access to the Great Lakes and rivers. We spent our days playing tennis, going to the beach, hanging out with my nephews, parents and sister and her family and just generally disconnecting from London life – in a word it was bliss! Check out some pictures at the end of the blog of a sunrise over Lake Michigan taken with my trusty phone... I couldn't resist using the photo filters.

But now I’m back and recharged for a very exciting next three months before the Christmas season. I’ve already hit August hard with creating some brand new paintings that are more opulent and decadent than any others. They are still very much based on my look and aesthetic but they include a hit of metallic colour to charge them up. I’ll post a sneak peak soon. I’m also looking forward to launching my first proper newsletter in September. With my audience growing bigger and bigger and with the amount of activity of what we do growing, we thought it was a good idea to start sending a monthly newsletter. In it, I plan to share some behind the scenes insight, some inspiration, as well as some newsletter reader-only offers and competitions. Watch this space!
