September 24, 2014 Wednesday - A Sneaky Peek!

With the busy autumn season upon us and with Christmas less than 100 days away, we’re gearing up for an exciting fall season. In the background, I’ve been hard at work for several months now creating new paintings to showcase at the Islington Contemporary Art & Design Fair in October in Angel / Islington in London. Organized by Candid Arts Trust, the fair has been going for ten years now and is one of the better ways for customers to come and look at a wide variety of high quality artworks to decorate their home with. The fair is held over four weekends in October with the first weekend (October 3-5) being Painting – and that’s where you’ll find me! There’s a private preview evening the Friday night before from 5 – 9 pm where you can take a look and a fantastic selection of beautiful and unique artworks before the general public. The location is tucked away in a quiet street right behind the Angel Tube station and lots of buses and even the overground are nearby. Entry for the fair is free and from past years and personal experience I know that the quality of the work on show will be extremely hig

To coincide with my participation in the art fair, I have created a new collection of paintings focusing on exploring gemstones. The rich colours of gemstones (whether they be ruby, emerald, sapphire) have always captivated me and it is those colours that I hope to bring to the forefront of my new work. And with autumn coming and winter looming ahead, I have really been drawn to dense fully saturated colours which really stand out and are a joy to look at. I’ve also introduced some metallic accents to my latest works to bring an opulence and decadence to the works. This is the first time my new paintings will be shown to the public at large. The feedback I’ve received from the few people who have seen them (including one of the head buyers at Liberty who said they are simply beautiful!) has been positive and I cannot wait to showcase them to a wider audience.

If you’re free on that weekend, please do pop by and say hello. I’ll be there both Saturday and Sunday from 11 – 6 pm. And if you’d like to come to the private view evening on the Friday, you can email me and I can send you an invite or alternatively, I can let the organizers know to expect a few extra people at the front door. I look forward to seeing you there! And if you know of anyone who loves beautiful art and who might be interested in visiting us in Angel / Islington, please feel free to pass this along. I hope to see you there. And until then, here is a sneaky peek at some of my new work.
