Love London? Love Architecture? Love Colour? Why Not Check Out My Fourth Instagram Challenge Featuring Wimbledon Art Studios!

I've just finished my fourth Instagram inspired challenge where I challenge myself to use only 1 original source picture taken on an iPhone to create 9 different images using only Instagram filters and photo adjustments. All made during a typical London commute (about 1 hour). Who organized this Instagram challenge? I did! What's the point of this challenge? That's exactly what makes it so glorious - there is no point! It's just my way of keeping my creative juices flowing and taking what inspires me (my surroundings, architecture, my travels), and turning it into a side creative project just for fun! So really, the point is to have a bit of creative fun on a typical London commute! This time,...

New Project - #threelittlewords ! Be Inspired, Motivated, and Share!

I've started a new project called #threelittlewords ! What is it? It's a way for artists to share what inspires them! And you can join it too! The idea is that you share three words that inspire you. That mean something to you. That motivate you, move you forward, drive you to do what you do. It can be anything. It can be three words that are as part of saying. It can be three totally unrelated words. It can be anything. As long as it's three words that have real meaning to you as a person, as an artist, and as a creative sprit. And once you come up with them, then be creative and add an image around...

The end result is an artwork that is truly striking, colourful,...

Seascape Paintings – my inspiration for my waterscape abstract artwork

People often wonder what my inspiration is for my Seascape paintings. Of course, there is the obvious – the sea. But it goes much deeper than that. I love nature and its ability to transform us. I particularly love watching water – seas, oceans, lakes… I find water very calming and soothing. It reminds us of our place in the world, it reminds us of our dependence on nature and water to survive, and it reminds us of far off lands. I also love how connected to each other water makes us – how water is cycled throughout the whole planet connecting all of us.   Our love of water is very primal – we need it to survive of...

Happy Birthday Vincent Van Gogh! Celebrating a talented artist who still inspires us

We artists are always pushing ourselves to do something new, unique, extraordinary.  Something that hasn't been seen before.  Something that can capture the imagination and passion of others.  Something that we can obsess over, pour our hearts and souls into and believe that is a true representation of us and only us and no one else.    But we don't exist in a vacuum.  No one does.  In reality many of us are influenced by other artists who came before us.  Whether it's visiting museums and galleries, or interacting with living artists, or studying them at school, the artists who came before us can be a source of inspiration and introspection.    Van Gogh is one such artist.  His work...
